Inception is something that I’ve wanted to see for quite a while now, not only because the story sounds interesting but because of the amount of praises I’ve heard for it and I must say, it deserves every bit of praise. Inception has almost everything that you could ask for in a science-fiction thriller movie and almost everything about it is quite clever and very well-thought of. Inception is set in a world where technology allows a person to invade other people’s dreams, a team of thieves must break into the dreams of a man who can make a life-changing decision by affecting the world’s future. So the group have to break into dreams within dreams and must be careful that they don’t lose their way or they could be trapped in the dream forever. A brilliant theme for a movie and a fascinating subject to use is dreams and nightmares as anything can happen in your dreams or your nightmares, the sky’s the limit and with Inception, it broadens your imagination and makes you think about dreams and reality during and after the movie. Inception’s brilliant plot has so many unpredictable twists and turns which made the film more compelling as the time went by. Another brilliant thing about Inception is it’s phenomenal performances from its cast. Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page are both terrific as their characters and really convince you of their characters within the first minute.

You could very easily get lost in the movie’s storyline and you could easily be confused if you really don’t pay attention to the movie as one little detail could make the difference to understanding parts of the story. The script was fantastically written as was the story and they were very compelling to watch. The direction was magnificent and when you put everything mentioned above into one movie, you get a stunning, imaginative movie for the thinking man…or woman. The only thing that I have against Inception is that most of the characters, with the exception of Cobb, have rather poor character development and yet they were important to the movie and you cared about them so it’s a con turned into a pro.

From the visually impressive opening to it’s thought-provoking ending, Inception doesn’t fail to thrill, impress or stun you. With it’s fantastic action scenes and it’s mind-blowing dream world, Inception will blow you away and exceed all expectations. The movie has had some hype and while I never listen to the hype or get my hopes up, I’m glad to say that the hype for Inception is well-deserved along with whatever praise it has had or may get in the future. Christopher Nolan has done a terrific job writing and directing Inception and deserves a lot of praise for it. Inception has quickly become one of my favourite movies of 2010 and one of my favourite movies of all-time, I thought it was thought-provoking, clever, compelling and overall magnificent. If you are a fan of science-fiction or action movies or movies that make you think, I would seriously recommend this movie to you as this is one movie nobody should miss and everybody should see at least once in their lives.
