A day in the life of an American family who come together to put a beloved husband and father to rest. As mourners gather at the family home, shocking revelations, festering resentments, ugly threats, blackmail and a misdirected corpse unleash lethal mayhem.

You have Jackie Chan in there!!!”

Death at a Funeral was originally a British comedy directed by Frank Oz and three years later, the movie has gotten the American treatment, but should we be upset or should we be smiling at this American remake? Well, even though the movie is quite faithful to the original, it’s also pretty pointless. The story is great, just like the original. The characters are well written and were good to watch. The actors gave out a great performance as their characters and the script stays close-to-fully faithful to the original’s script. The writing was okay but the original dishes out a more original and funnier delivery.

I’m not going to say that the Death at a Funeral remake was bad because I would be lying. It was very funny in some parts and there were a few scenes that resembled the original. The cast were great and they gave out a funny performance as their characters but it’s just pointless to release a remake so soon. It would be much more understandable if it was foreign and it wasn’t in English but the original was English and it was released three years ago and it’s almost the same so it’s pretty much pointless. It’s very similar to the original but as I have said before, the original is that bit more better. If you’ve watched the original, you know exactly what to expect but if you haven’t watched the original, you might find this funnier. It’s funny but the original is better and, even though this is funny, it’s pointless. Why make a remake in such a short space of time? In ten years time, I could understand a little but the original Death at a Funeral was released three years ago, there’s no point in remaking it. Why fix something that was never broken or had hardly any problems?

A good movie with a few very funny scenes but the original is better! I would recommend this to people who love comedy movies and want a laugh with family or friends.

I saw the first one years ago, and all I hear is that this is the same basic thing. Seems pointless to me too.
